Sanchayan Ghosh, artist pedagogue
Over the years, Sanchayan Ghosh has been working on process based site specific art practise and has done extensive work on post performance collaborative art. With his early inspirations from community ritual events in Santiniketan and his workshop experience with Third theatre exponent Badal Sarkar he got inspired in site specific practices and the complex relationship of making and sharing as an integrated process of making art. He has been engaged with different forms of public space and collaborative participatory dialogues with diverse communities with multiple identities. He tries to engage in specific community situations through workshops, which then gets transformed into an interactive/participatory art activity. It is a necessity therefore to usually share his workshop oriented practice in private and public spaces. These lead to interdisciplinary activities and multi layered installations and performances that are both pedagogic and performative in nature. Through his continuous exploration in site-specific interactive art practice, Ghosh has over the years been exploring spaces between institution and pedagogy and conversing in the interface of institutional and public situations.
